"Down By the Seashore" A Family Collage....

Hello Dear Friends,

Some of you may recall a post
I did awhile back showing you
a collage I was starting to make
called Down by the Seashore.
Well I finally finished it and
wanted to show it to you.
The two pictures in frames
are my Grandmother Elsa
in 1917 and the picture of the
guys doing a Rockett kick
is my Grandfather August
third in from the right, this
picture also taken in 1917.

The Beauty Queen on the
left is my Aunt Julia.
She grew up in N.Y.C.
and became one of the
dancers with the Gertrude
Hoffman Girls. Julia was
also on Broadway with
the Hoffman girls and
did "A Night in Paris" in
1925. My Aunt Julia
was also a contestant
in many beauty pagents
and this picture of her
was taken when she
was in a  Pagent
in Atlantic City N.J.
in the 1920's. I do
not know if she ever
won any pagents but
"I"  think she was
a "Winner" and gave her
a crown anyway!!

I think this is a nice way to
honor your relatives and keep
their memory alive!!!

    Susan this is fabulous! I love the family photos, you are fortunate to be in possession of those. I believe our swim wear has changed just a bit in the intervening years, haha! You have really created a beautiful collage here, I like all the elements you have used to pull it all together. I really like those little sand dollar cut outs you have at the bottom and in the crown. The music choice works too. Good work!!

    Susan, I HAD to enlarge your photos to see the guys doing "the kick". Adorable! This is really cool tht you put this together. Have you written a little story to glue on the back to "authenticate" it? Your post here would be perfect!

My First Giveaway and Celebrating My Birthday!!

My Dearest Blogging Friends, I can not find the words to express how much Joy and Happiness that each of you have brought into my life. Hello Dear Friends.... So I'm here again!...I may just start blogging once more!! I wanted to share with you a simple little collage I made this week. I used a vintage book cover as my base. I love the dark green base for the collage. The little girl is from Paper Whimsy. Since I wanted to make something to herald in springtime...I decided to use some vintage ephemera that I have collected over the years. I used a vintage book page from some nature pages my friend Tina had sent to me from Denmark. The feather I have the little girl holding is from a friend in British Columbia, from one of her birds, who donates his feathers!! LOL......I also used a wee little nest I was gifted in a swap a couple of years ago. The little metal hanger I though was a cute way to hang the collage...On the little label it says "Magical"! Springtime to me is a magical time of year, as nature once again brings forth beautiful flowers, and lush landscapes so pleasing to our soul. A
